From the effectiveness of the 2 initial terminals, up to now, Lach Huyen Port has had 4 more terminals put into operation and is continuing to implement 4 more terminals and the following terminals. Thus, the ability to connect domestically and internationally will increase day by day.
To increase the attractiveness of the port, in its development strategy, Hai Phong always focuses on mobilizing resources to invest in modernizing the transportation system and post-port services such as: Expressway system; Cat Bi international airport; inland waterway and railway systems along with Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone and a series of large, modern and prestigious industrial parks.
Travel time from other provinces and cities to Hai Phong has been significantly shortened, such as only 1 hour to Hanoi; 25 minutes to Quang Ninh; 45 minutes to Hung Yen (old); 1.5 hours to Thai Binh (old)...
The operating capacity of Cat Bi International Airport is constantly increasing rapidly as it attracts a significant number of passengers from localities in the region with a high frequency of domestic and international flights.
Such convenient trade connection has attracted a volume of import and export goods from the northern provinces and cities through Hai Phong Port up to more than 190 million tons in 2024 and promises to continue to increase in the coming years.
This has led to thousands of large domestic and foreign enterprises investing in Hai Phong with a total registered capital of nearly 50 billion USD in FDI capital and hundreds of thousands of billions of VND in domestic investment capital to develop industry, agriculture, tourism, services, healthcare, education, science and technology, etc.
