TPO – The project to establish the Southern Coastal Economic Zone of Hai Phong City is a 3.0 generation ecological economic zone, with a scale of 20,000 hectares, spanning 4 districts. This economic zone will be oriented to develop a free trade zone, prioritizing projects of industrial clusters, international-scale logistics centers, etc.
At the press conference of Hai Phong City Party Committee on June 4, Mr. Le Trung Kien - Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board said that Hai Phong City Party Committee agreed, reached a high consensus and asked for the Central Government's opinion on the Project to establish Nam Hai Phong Economic Zone.
According to the project, the Southern Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone has a total area of 20,000 hectares, along the coastal highway, the Van Uc River area, the Nam Do Son port and logistics area, and the Tien Lang airport area, located in 4 districts: Do Son, Kien Thuy, Tien Lang and Vinh Bao.
According to Mr. Le Trung Kien, this is a 3.0 generation eco-economic zone, multi-industry focusing on high-tech industry and modern logistics. It is the hub of Hai Phong participating in the regional and global value and supply chain, while also paying attention to preserving cultural values and strengthening national defense and security.

The South Hai Phong coastal economic zone will be oriented to develop a free trade zone, with priority given to developing industrial park projects, industrial clusters, international logistics centers, urban areas along the coastal road, taking advantage of the Nam Do Son port planning area and the international airport in Tien Lang district.
It is expected that by 2030, the Southern Coastal Economic Zone of Hai Phong will become the main driving force of the city's economy, equivalent to 80% of the capacity of Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone in 2023. Therefore, this economic zone plays a particularly important role in connecting with neighboring economic zones, forming a chain of coastal economic zones, serving as the driving force for the development of the whole region.
