President Yoon Suk Yeol will pay an official visit to Jakarta, Indonesia, from September 5 to 8 and attend the ASEAN Summit.

In Indonesia, economic diplomacy is expected to receive special attention. About 40 CEOs of major companies from both countries will attend the Korea-Indonesia Business Forum, including the chairmen of Hyundai Motor Group Chung Eui-sun, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin and LS Group Chairman Koo Ja-eun.

On the afternoon of September 8, Mr. Yoon Suk Yeol and his delegation will go to New Delhi, India to attend the Summit of the Group of 20 leading developed and emerging economies (G20).

Choi Sang-mok, senior presidential aide for economic affairs, said the focus of the trips was economic. ASEAN and India are important markets, accounting for 21 percent of South Korea's exports.

According to Mr. Choi Sang-mok, President Yoon Suk Yeol plans to create momentum to boost exports, ending the series of declining results in the pillar sector of the economy that has lasted since October 2022.
