(Dan Tri) - About 20 houses located next to each other all have wooden or iron arched gates, painted dark brown in alley 5/1 Tu Hoa street ( Hanoi ) less than 100m long.
Alley 5/1 Tu Hoa Street (Quang An Ward, Tay Ho District, Hanoi) is about 2m wide and less than 100m long, standing out with its synchronous architecture and design.
About 20 houses in this small alley are all designed with wooden or iron arched gates, painted dark brown. The bare brick walls, unplastered, stained with old moss, are dotted with green vines. Ms. Bui Thi My (73 years old, living in alley 5/1 Tu Hoa) said that from a family designing an arched gate and building a brick wall, people in the alley "imitated" each other, hiring the same construction team. Each family spent about 20-30 million VND to build the gate. On holidays and Tet, people in the alley decorate with small national flags, adding color to the place where they live. The street lights in front of the houses are also uniform in color and design. Every morning, Mrs. My spends time sweeping dry leaves in front of her house. "The households in alley 5/1 Tu Hoa are all close friends, so we have been building archways together for about 2-3 years now. On important occasions, we decorate and clean together," said Mrs. My. According to Ms. My, on weekends, many tourists and young people come to take photos and drink coffee. Nguyen Quynh (25 years old, living in Hanoi) shared that Alley 5 Tu Hoa is famous for being a poetic and peaceful alley in Hanoi, with romantic virtual living corners. Although she has been to West Lake many times, this is the first time she knows about this unique alley 5/1. The only house that is different is painted green because the owner built it before and did not want to change it. After the arches, the owners chose to use green painted iron gates or add yin-yang tile roofing. Foreign tourists coming to Alley 5 Tu Hoa for the first time are immediately attracted by the small alley, nestled close to West Lake. "For me, the alley is rustic and simple. It is less than 100m long but the uniform design here attracted me, it is really interesting", said Ms. Moni (a tourist from Europe).
