On the morning of April 7 (the 10th day of the third lunar month), thousands of people from Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces flocked to the Hung Kings Memorial Temple in Thu Duc City to offer incense and commemorate the Hung Kings.
The procession and incense offering ceremony to the Hung Kings took place right after the opening ceremony, attracting the participation of thousands of people.
Offerings including fruit palanquin and banh chung palanquin are carried from the foot of the Memorial to the Hung King Temple.
The incense offering ceremony was attended by leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
Outside, people lined up neatly waiting to offer incense to the Hung Kings.
The offerings were carefully prepared by the people to offer to the Hung Kings.
Groups of people lined up in long lines waiting for their turn to offer incense. Remembering the merits of the Hung Kings is remembering the roots, a profound cultural symbol, affirming the sacred value of our nation's thousands of years of history of building and defending the country.
Each person was given an incense stick to show their respect. "Every year I come here to burn incense to commemorate the Hung Kings. At home, we often teach our children to always remember the merits of their roots," said Ms. Minh, a resident of Thu Duc City.
Despite the hot weather, people still patiently waited for their turn to offer incense and gifts to King Hung.
On the Hung Kings' death anniversary, the Hung Kings Memorial Temple also organizes many activities such as camping, martial arts performances, dragon dances...
