Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi People’s Committee, Ms. Vu Thu Ha, emphasized that this event is not only an opportunity for people of the two cities to review the glorious history of the capital, but also an opportunity to promote the cooperative relationship between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Through this, the two cities can promote and exploit to the fullest the potential of culture, heritage, tourism, economy and trade.

The art program with the theme “Hanoi’s Marks” created a special highlight for the opening ceremony. Inspired by the Hanoi Flag Tower – a historical symbol of the capital – the song and dance performance recreated the resilient and indomitable image of the Hanoi people during the resistance war against the French. The audience also enjoyed the beauty of the land and people of Hanoi through emotional art performances.
The event attracted the participation of many famous artists from both cities such as Hong Nhung, Tung Duong, MTV group, along with talented designers and model groups such as Xuan Lan and Duc Hung.
The performances were elaborately staged, harmoniously combining music , dance and traditional costumes, bringing a memorable night of art to the people of Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition to the performance program, “Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City” also organized many meaningful exhibitions such as: exhibition of documentary photos commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, exhibition “Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi - Heritage for the future” and exhibition of pictures about the special National Monument “Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam”.

These activities help introduce to Ho Chi Minh City residents the unique cultural values and special affection that Hanoi has to offer.
The event 'Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City' takes place from August 23 to August 25.
