Speaking at the award ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that in the atmosphere of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country entering the first working day with the 2-level local government apparatus, the organization of the announcement ceremony and awarding of the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Innovation Award contributed to highlighting the special meaning of creative potential, constant innovation to develop and build Ho Chi Minh City with the goal of becoming a livable city, striving in the new era.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee commented that the development process over the past 50 years has demonstrated that the City has a dynamic tradition, quickly accepting new and advanced things, with many inventions and initiatives; is the origin of many innovative activities; many mechanisms and policies issued by the Central Government are drawn from the city's reality.

Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc believes that it is innovation that has helped Ho Chi Minh City always play a particularly important role in the overall development of the country, being the country's locomotive in terms of economy - culture - society.
“All of this is the crystallization of the consensus and high determination of the entire political system, people and business community of the city, the convergence of the quintessence of creative labor of all classes of people in all fields and the Creativity Award is organized to honor these contributions,” affirmed comrade Nguyen Van Duoc.

In the context of merging 3 localities - 3 strong development poles of the South, with outstanding achievements in industry, trade, services, seaports and international integration, to become an "international megacity" with the aspiration to strive to become one of the top 100 most livable cities in the world . And the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation Award is one of the important solutions contributing to creating a breakthrough for the development of the City in the coming time, realizing this goal.
According to him, the above goal is to have a rich source of topics; at the same time, he hopes to gather many scientists, especially those who are passionate, to create many valuable scientific works, contributing to realizing the dreams and aspirations of the City.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested Party committees and authorities at all levels to step up dissemination, propaganda, awareness raising and implementation among cadres, party members and people of breakthrough policies and strategies on science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation. In particular, focusing on creative ideas to serve the construction of e-government, digital government, improving the quality of urban government construction, effectively implementing administrative reform, and solving some complicated problems.
