Artist Xuan Hinh acted in a movie for the first time, collaborating with Thanh Thanh Hien in "The Smell of Pho"

On the afternoon of November 20, the film crew of The Smell of Pho (director - producer Minh Beta) held a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City. The film is scheduled to premiere on the first day of Lunar New Year 2026.

The Smell of Pho marks the first time that artists Xuan Hinh and Thanh Thanh Hien have collaborated on the big screen. In the film, Xuan Hinh plays a pho maker – a Vietnamese man who is somewhat patriarchal, difficult but emotional and responsible. He called this experience “touching – engaging – interesting”. Artist Thanh Thanh Hien shared that this role is a memorable memory in his career.

The film also features actress Thu Trang, creating an interesting "confrontation" with Xuan Hinh. The cast also includes: Tien Loc, Ha Huong, Hai Trieu, Cuong Ca, Ngoc Manh, child actor Bao Nam...

Director Minh Beta said the script for The Smell of Pho was developed over nearly two years and edited hundreds of times to ensure quality. The film crew also went to Nam Dinh to learn how to cook pho to enhance authenticity.

At the press conference, artist Xuan Hinh performed Chau Van Co Be, which left a strong impression. The theme song Lao Ong Got Married was performed by Tuan Cry.

At the press conference, director Minh Beta also announced a donation of 200 million VND to the people of Central Vietnam affected by floods.
