Transporting more than 40 tons of goods to support flood victims in Dak Lak

On the evening of November 22, two trucks carrying 40 tons of goods were transported by the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross to support people affected by floods in Dak Lak province.

At around 6:00 p.m. on November 22, many volunteers loaded goods onto a truck that stopped in front of the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society, branch 2 (Phu Loi ward, Ho Chi Minh City).

Mr. Tong Xuan Giang, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society, said the first truck will transport 20 tons of necessities such as rice, noodles, milk, cakes of all kinds, sausages, canned fish, mineral water, clothes, flashlights, medicine, etc. overnight.

On the night of November 22, there will be another trip carrying 20 tons of goods following the above route to help people affected by natural disasters.

Present at the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society, branch 2, very early, Mr. Tran Ngoc Thanh (67 years old, living in Phu Loi ward) said that as soon as he heard about the organization to receive goods to support flood victims, he arranged his work to participate in coordinating vehicles and arranging volunteers at different stages to ensure harmony.

“It was unexpected,” Mr. Thanh said of the number of people bringing goods and necessities to support. Some even volunteered to participate in receiving and distributing the goods.

Specifically, Mr. Pham Khanh (born in 1988, from Hue city), an aluminum and glass worker, after work, he took the opportunity to buy 2 boxes of instant noodles to support and then join the volunteer team.

Mr. Khanh said that his hometown is in the Central region, so he feels the loss of his fellow countrymen due to storms and floods. When he heard about the campaign, he took the opportunity to contribute his efforts to pray for people to overcome difficulties.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Huu Kha, a motorbike taxi driver, was sweating profusely while carrying 3 boxes of instant noodles inside. When he heard about the support for the people, he took the opportunity to leave early to participate in receiving and distributing the goods with the hope of contributing his efforts to help people overcome difficulties.
