Currently, the movement of physical training and sports among farmers is developing vigorously, widely and bringing positive effects. Farmers' associations at all levels in the province are interested in promoting propaganda work, raising awareness for members and encouraging members' families to participate in physical training and sports. Football and volleyball are sports that are developing vigorously and widely, attracting a large number of farmers to participate in training and competition. In the early morning or late afternoon, especially on weekends, everyone takes advantage of their work to practice sports and improve their health.
Regularly practicing sports, Mr. Nguyen Van Hau - a farmer in Chau Phu commune expressed: "My brothers and I in the village often play volleyball together to improve our health. We often compete with other volleyball teams and participate in local teams to compete in sports tournaments organized by the locality or farmers' associations at all levels."
Localities have established many sports and fitness clubs: health care, football, volleyball, badminton, chess... with farmers as the core force. Chairman of Vinh An Commune Farmers' Association Ly Duong Huy Toan said: "Many sports and fitness clubs in the commune are operating more and more effectively, attracting many members and farmers to participate. This has truly become a useful playground, helping the Commune Farmers' Association select talented athletes to be part of the commune's typical team to participate in competitions organized by the province."
Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association Phan Tung Lam said: "In order to develop the farmers' physical education and sports movement, the Provincial Farmers' Association coordinates with the Department of Culture and Sports to organize many sports festivals and sports tournaments among farmers to celebrate important events of the country, celebrate the Party, celebrate spring and major national holidays. The Farmers' Sports Festival is one of the major and typical sports activities organized by the Provincial Farmers' Association every year, attracting a large number of members and farmers from localities in the province to compete in sports: Football, volleyball, stick pushing, tug of war, cross-country running...
Recently, the Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with the Provincial Farmers' Association and the People's Committee of Ba Chuc Commune to organize the 2025 Provincial Farmers' Volleyball Tournament, with the participation of 12 units in the province, with 130 athletes. As a result, the host team of Ba Chuc Commune excellently won the championship after defeating the team of Hoi An Commune in the final match.
Happy when his team won the championship, Mr. Tran Van Phu - an athlete of Ba Chuc commune volleyball team said: "All of us tried our best in each match to be able to reach the highest position of the tournament. Through sports competitions, farmers like us have a playground to entertain and relax after hours of hard work in the fields."
In the coming time, the Department of Culture and Sports will continue to coordinate with farmers' associations at all levels and localities to actively and closely coordinate with departments, branches and organizations to promote propaganda work to raise awareness among cadres, members, farmers and the masses about the significance of physical exercise and sports associated with the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life, build new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
