At 7:00 a.m. on February 2 (January 5), Huong Son National Tourist Area (My Duc District, Hanoi) attracted tens of thousands of tourists from all over the country to come on pilgrimage and sightsee.

Busy ferries on Yen stream take passengers from Yen wharf to Thien Tru pagoda.

This year, the Huong Pagoda tourism service cooperative has prepared more than 3,700 boats to serve the high demand of tourists. The organizers hope that the cooperative will contribute to building a civilized Huong Pagoda festival season, ending negative and offensive images...

At 11am, thousands of boats lined up waiting to dock at Thien Tru Pagoda.

The traffic jam of boats and ferries became more and more serious as the number of people attending the festival increased.

Tourists have to queue up to walk past dozens of boats and ferries close to the shore to get to the pier.

Passenger boats are packed on the 4km long Yen stream, waiting to take visitors to visit Huong Pagoda.

A tourist from Ha Nam held her children’s hands as they walked across four boats to the dock. She said she went to Huong Pagoda every year so it was so familiar that she was worried that her children would fall into the water.

The female tourist stood around, fumbling as the boats kept rocking, not daring to go ashore.

According to statistics from the relic site management board, from the first day of Tet until now, Huong Pagoda has welcomed about 92,000 visitors.

Early afternoon, it was raining heavily, the way up and down Huong Pagoda was crowded with people wearing raincoats on pilgrimage.

At the cable car boarding area, the line of people stretched from the ticket control gate to the cabin entrance. Many tourists were impatient as they had to wait a long time for their turn.

Ms. Bich (from Quang Ninh ) has been going to Huong Pagoda with her family for four consecutive years. She shared: "My family left yesterday and stayed overnight at the wharf. This morning, the whole family sat on the boat for more than an hour to get to Thien Tru Pagoda. With such a long line, we must have waited a long time to get on the cable car."

People were packed at the cable car entrance at 3pm.

Tomorrow morning (January 6, At Ty year), in addition to the opening of Huong Pagoda festival in 2025, the People's Committee of My Duc district will also organize the announcement of the decision to recognize the Huong Pagoda relic and scenic area as a city-level tourist area.

The 2025 Huong Pagoda Festival has the theme: "Huong Pagoda Festival - a tourist destination, culture, and Vietnamese traditions", taking place for 3 months, from February 3 to May 1.
