Foreign passengers left behind a lot of foreign currency on the Hanoi – Lao Cai train

The incident happened on the evening of October 10, when the train arrived at the Pho Lu - Cau Nho section, the attendant in charge of car number 13, Luong Ngoc Duc, discovered a blue wallet that had been left behind by a passenger. Mr. Duc immediately contacted the train captain to report the incident.

Upon receiving the news, train captain Pham Thanh Hoa and the train security guard were present at the train car and proceeded to make a record and take an inventory of the assets. Thereby, it was determined that the wallet contained 25 foreign currency notes, 44 200,000 VND notes and a passport in the name of Chei Hui Mei, Chinese nationality (Taiwan); the total value of the assets was about 28 million VND.

The train conductor and the conductor then went through each compartment to find the owner of the wallet. Fortunately, the passenger was still on the train. In front of the passengers, all the belongings and passport were returned to the person who left them.
