Over the past two decades in Vietnam, RMIT University Vietnam has awarded thousands of scholarships to many young talents in the country and around the world , fueling their ambition to improve themselves and create positive impacts on the community.
Established at the invitation of the Vietnamese Government, since its presence in Vietnam in 2000, RMIT University Vietnam and its annual scholarship program have been awarding prestigious scholarships throughout this journey. With a commitment to continue investing in the scholarship program, RMIT Vietnam aims to build excellent teaching and learning, accompanying students to focus on positive changes for the community, contributing to creating a bright future foreducation in Vietnam and the region.
“Over the past 25 years, RMIT University Vietnam has awarded more than VND645 billion in scholarships to 1,880 students from 45 provinces and cities in Vietnam and more than 29 countries around the world with outstanding achievements in the community. We are very happy that this program not only creates opportunities for learning and self-development for outstanding young people, but also through that, together with them, we achieve the goal of creating positive changes for the community,” said a representative of RMIT Vietnam about the vision and mission of the scholarship program at RMIT Vietnam.
Most recently, RMIT Vietnam's 2024 scholarship program received 1,900 applications for 19 categories, including foundation, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. After a fair and transparent review process, RMIT Vietnam has just awarded 105 scholarships worth more than VND 53.2 billion to students from Vietnam and many other countries, welcoming them to integrate and further develop in the international educational environment right in Vietnam.
Notably, this year's scholarship award ceremony (2024) coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Fulfilling Dreams Scholarship - RMIT Vietnam's pioneering initiative that has changed the lives of many young people over the past decade. Since its launch in 2014, the Fulfilling Dreams Scholarship has realized RMIT Vietnam's commitment to providing opportunities for Vietnamese students with disabilities or financial difficulties, young people with positive personal qualities and a desire to study at university. In addition to the full tuition fee for the English and university programs, Fulfilling Dreams scholarship recipients are also provided with a monthly living allowance, a laptop and expenses for a trip home (if needed). To date, the school has awarded 42 Fulfilling Dreams scholarships, with a total value of more than 70 billion VND.
As one of the many students receiving the Dream Wings Scholarship, Nghiem Vu Thu Loan, currently a student majoring in Professional Communication at RMIT, shared that the scholarship has helped her continue her journey of conquering knowledge, pursuing the Communication major that she has always dreamed of, contributing to raising the voice of people with disabilities in the community. Loan is currently the Head of the Vietnam Blind Students Network, under the Vietnam Blind Association.
The stories behind the scholarship application process show that RMIT's call to make a positive impact on the community through its annual scholarship program has truly made a big impact on the young generation of Vietnam - young people with dreams and ambitions to make positive changes for themselves and the community.
One of the typical cases for this story is Do Hoang Duc Anh, a former student who won a Full Scholarship, studying Professional Communication at RMIT Vietnam. Since studying at RMIT, Duc Anh has gradually formed a dream of contributing to society. The environment here has created many opportunities for her to participate in international community projects, expand relationships, and become more confident. In particular, Duc Anh was awarded the RMIT Leadership Recognition Award for students with outstanding leadership achievements in social responsibility. Currently, Duc Anh is working at UNICEF and is responsible for projects related to children and adolescents in Vietnam. Duc Anh's campaigns aim to increase public awareness, implement long-term policies and build support platforms to ensure children have a better life in the future.
To maximize the goal of having a positive impact on the community, the RMIT Vietnam scholarship program offers a variety of scholarships for future students with diverse academic backgrounds, interests, and concerns, not just limited to a single type of scholarship that focuses only on grades, so the opportunities for candidates are very diverse.
Each student can “triple their chances” by applying for up to three different types of scholarships. This is also a factor that makes the humanitarian value of the scholarship program more clearly demonstrated.
In 2025, RMIT will continue to award many prestigious scholarships that promise to bring unmissable opportunities for individuals with qualities, ambitions, and dreams to accompany RMIT to create positive changes for the community and society.
