Eager to volunteer to serve Hue Traditional Craft Festival

Instead of returning to her hometown in Ha Tinh , student Le Thi Hoai (University of Education - Hue University) decided to stay during the April 30 - May 1 holiday to volunteer for the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023.

“This is a good opportunity for me to gain more experience and soft skills for my future studies and work. I always consider Hue as my second hometown and want to contribute a small part to promote the ancient capital to many friends and tourists,” Le Thi Hoai shared.

For student Tran Thi Ngoc Chau, Thuan Hoa Ward (Hue City), this Hue Traditional Craft Festival takes place during the holidays so she can easily balance her studies and volunteering. This is the responsibility and honor of every Hue native to contribute to her homeland.

Along with Le Thi Hoai and Tran Thi Ngoc Chau, the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023 attracted 140 volunteers to participate under the selection and training of the Hue City Youth Union. Since mid-March, the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union has planned to organize the selection and training of volunteers. After nearly 1 month of announcement, the unit has received nearly 250 applications and selected 140 candidates with the best results through the preliminary round.

According to the assessment of Hue City Youth Union, the 140 volunteers selected this time are mostly students from universities in the area and all meet the requirements of appearance, knowledge of Hue culture, foreign language proficiency and high sense of responsibility. In addition, there are also a number of union members and high school youth in the city who have good skills and want to experience and contribute their part to the activities within the framework of Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023.

According to information from the Hue City Youth Union, in addition to promoting and introducing performance programs to domestic and international tourists throughout the week of the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023, volunteers are on duty everywhere to help craft villages and artisans; guide people and tourists to follow festival programs; show directions for foreign tourists; divide lanes for vehicles on the road. In order to help volunteers complete their assigned tasks well, Hue City Youth Union organized a training course to equip them with general knowledge about Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023 such as: Basic information about festival programs and history, people, relics, and scenic spots of Hue; Hue cultural imprints through cuisine and traditional craft villages; responsibilities and obligations of volunteers; security work and response to situations; first aid skills; basic foreign language communication skills...

The Standing Committee of the City Youth Union said that in order to organize, manage and operate the volunteer force most effectively, all tasks will be deployed through the volunteer executive board.

The members of the executive board are individuals with many years of experience volunteering in the Festival. The executive board has currently divided the volunteer force into groups with different tasks and will assign specific tasks to each volunteer through the group leaders in charge. In addition, there will be a mobile group to serve activities and situations arising at the request of the organizing board. The executive board will regularly receive information from volunteers, domestic and foreign delegations participating in the Traditional Craft Festival, and tourists to promptly mobilize support forces and answer questions.
