Chairman of the City People's Council Le Truong Luu delivered the opening speech of the meeting.

This thematic session took place in the context of Hue City as well as the whole country focusing on implementing socio-economic development tasks, reorganizing the apparatus in the political system, reorganizing administrative units (ADUs) and organizing 2-level local governments.

Accordingly, the City People's Council will consider and approve the policy on rearranging and reorganizing commune-level administrative units in the city.

Speaking at the opening of the session, Chairman of the City People's Council Le Truong Luu emphasized that this is a major and very important issue that voters and people are interested in. The arrangement and reorganization of commune-level administrative units aims to effectively exploit resources, expand space for investment planning, socio-economic development, and at the same time, contribute to building a streamlined political system and government apparatus at all levels of the city, operating effectively, efficiently, effectively, and closer to the people.

Chairman of the City People's Council Le Truong Luu requested that the City People's Council delegates focus on carefully studying the contents, contributing opinions to complete and resolve on the policy of arranging and reorganizing grassroots administrative units so that the City People's Committee can receive and complete the Project to send to the Ministry of Home Affairs for appraisal, submit to the Government, the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly for consideration and decision on schedule.

In addition to the content of arranging and reorganizing commune-level administrative units,   The People's Council and the city will discuss proposals to issue resolutions related to economic, budgetary and urban areas such as: Funding to support the construction of new houses or renovation and repair of houses for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs; plans to use excess revenue from the city budget in 2024; list of works and projects requiring land recovery, conversion of rice-growing land, production forest land, and protective forest land to other purposes in the city; Construction zoning plan (scale 1/2000) for a number of tourist service areas in the city and a number of other important contents.

The City People's Council will also hold an internal session to consider dismissing the position of member of the Hue City People's Committee and terminating the duties of a delegate of the Hue City People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.
