Electrical safety inspection at some 110kV power projects

Representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City and Can Tho City Electricity Company inspected the 110kV power grid on Provincial Road 923, Phuoc Thoi Ward, O Mon District.

According to Can Tho City Electricity Company, from the beginning of 2025 to now, the Company has directed the electricity departments of districts to organize inspections of high-voltage power grid safety corridors within their management scope to promptly detect and prevent violations of laws on electrical safety; install warning signs and instruct construction units and people living in or near high-voltage power grid works to properly implement electrical safety measures, to prevent risks of electrical safety loss, causing damage to people and property of the people...

Despite efforts to carry out propaganda work well, there are still some violations of the high-voltage grid safety corridor at the 110kV voltage level managed by Can Tho City Electricity Company that have not been completely resolved for many years. Specifically, on the 110kV Long Hoa - Can Tho line passing through Cuu Long Residential Area, Long Hoa Ward, Binh Thuy District, there is an electric pole No. 115 located in the middle of the road in this residential area. In addition, at the housing area for lecturers of Can Tho University, An Khanh Ward, Ninh Kieu District, there is an electric pole No. 6 belonging to the 110kV 178 Can Tho 2 line located under the road; at the same time, on Provincial Road 923, Phuoc Thoi Ward, O Mon District, there are still some constructions and houses located within the 110kV grid corridor...

To improve the effectiveness of state management in the protection of high-voltage power grid works, the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City has been directing the Can Tho City Electricity Company to regularly review locations at risk of violating electrical safety, especially locations where high-voltage power lines intersect with traffic routes; combine with inspections of high-voltage power lines located in residential areas... Thereby, requiring units and managers of the 110kV high-voltage power grid to propose many solutions to promptly overcome risks of causing electrical safety loss as well as quickly handle violations of the power grid safety corridor in accordance with regulations...
