To mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Greece, the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece held press conferences in Athens and Thessaloniki, attended by reporters from leading Greek news agencies and newspapers.
According to the VNA correspondent in Southern Europe, speaking at press conferences, Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece Pham Thi Thu Huong announced the activities and significance of the events organized to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, including the launch of the documentary film "Vietnam - Greece: Sails Across the Ocean" in Greek, English, and Vietnamese, produced by the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece.
The film reviews the 50-year journey of the traditional friendship between the two countries, with a focus on stories of the affection that the Greek people have for Vietnam, and the similarities in history and culture that have created a natural and profound empathy between the two nations.
At the press conference, the logo commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, designed by the Embassy, was officially unveiled. Based on symbolic elements from each country's culture, such as the Lac bird of Vietnam and the column architecture of Greece, and combining the red and yellow colors of the Vietnamese flag with the blue and white of the Greek flag, the logo highlights the harmony and connection between the cultures of the two countries, despite being on two different continents.
Also at these press conferences was the official launch of the book "Biography of President Ho Chi Minh " in Greek, as well as the organization of the Vietnamese Film Week in Athens and Thessaloniki, Greece's second-largest city, from May 11-20.
The films screened during the film week had both English and Greek subtitles, helping to bring Vietnamese films closer to Greek audiences.
These projects are being implemented in coordination between the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece, the Ministry of Culture , Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Film Institute, Hanoi Radio and Television Station, and the Greek partner, Mr. Velissarios Kossivakis, a member of the Greek Communist Party. The two cinemas are New Star Art Cinema and Cine Vakoura.
At the press conference, reporters were also informed about the socio-economic development situation of Vietnam and the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Greece.
The press conference attracted attention and coverage from leading Greek media outlets, including Radio Greece, Athens-Macedonia News Agency, To Vima, and others. Many media outlets requested in-depth interviews.
