Performance of the Club of Outstanding Farmers in Production and Business in Nam Dinh Province

The Nam Dinh Province Outstanding Farmers and Businessmen Club was established at the end of 2024 with 59 members to exchange and share experiences, support each other in economic development, and contribute to the implementation of Resolution No. 46-NQ/TW dated December 20, 2023 of the Politburo on innovation and improving the quality of activities of the Vietnam Farmers' Union to meet the requirements of tasks in the new period.

Comrade To Xuan Hiep, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association (PPA) said: Based on the guidance of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam PPA, the Provincial PPA Standing Committee established the Mobilization Committee of the Outstanding Farmers' Club of Nam Dinh Province. The Mobilization Committee has assigned specific tasks to each member and is responsible for coordinating with the PPA of districts and cities to disseminate information to outstanding farmers about the purpose, significance and benefits of joining the Club. Mobilize outstanding farmers with revenue of VND 1 billion/year or more, achieving the title of outstanding farmers at the provincial level or higher to join the Club. After a period of propaganda and mobilization, 59 members in 9/9 district and city units of the PPA have joined the Club. Through the activities of the Club, it aims to connect production households to share experiences to improve the quality and competitiveness of products, increase farmers' income, gradually form groups and associations, and cooperate along the value chain from input to output. The Club members are all typical examples of good production and business. By professional field, the Club currently has 17 members in the field of cultivation; 8 members in the field of animal husbandry; 5 members in the field of combined animal husbandry and cultivation; 12 members in the field of aquaculture; 4 members in the field of small-scale industry; 13 members in the service field. In terms of revenue, the Club has 39 members who are billionaire farmers with revenue from 1 to less than 10 billion VND/year; 20 billionaire farmers with revenue from 10 billion VND/year or more. The total revenue of the Club members is over 391 billion VND; an average of 6.6 billion VND/household/year. In terms of income, the club has 34 members with income over 1 billion VND/year, 25 members with income under 1 billion VND. The total income of the club members is 72.38 billion VND; an average of 1.2 billion VND/household/year.

The members elected the Club's Executive Committee consisting of 9 comrades representing the regions, areas and fields of operation of the Club. These are outstanding, outstanding farmers and businessmen who are knowledgeable about the fields of operation of the Club, have prestige, enthusiasm, responsibility, have the ability to communicate, manage, orient, lead the activities of the Club and have experience in mobilizing and gathering members and farmers. In particular, the Club's Chairman is Mr. Do Duy Bac, a famous billionaire who grows and trades ornamental plants in Nam Dien commune (Nam Truc). Born and raised in a land famous for growing ornamental plants, from a young age, Mr. Bac became familiar with the work of planting, caring for, pruning and shaping ornamental plants. With his passion and skillful hands, he searched for and collected embryo plants, raw materials, seemingly simple plants but when through the process of creation, pruning and care, they became vibrant and beautiful works of art. In 2017, Mr. Bac established Do Hoang Phuc Ornamental Plants Joint Stock Company with a 1-hectare garden of his family and rented additional land from other gardeners in the area. After many years of hard work, he has now built a diverse ornamental plant garden with a total garden value of more than 80 billion VND. The company undertakes flower and ornamental plant decoration projects in all provinces and cities across the country, from private homes, offices, hotels to resorts, beaches, national highways, etc. The total revenue of the Company is estimated at 50-70 billion VND/year; the annual profit (after deducting expenses) averages 2.2 billion VND. Not only enriching his family, he also regularly guides and disseminates production experience, applying scientific and technical advances to members with the same passion and families who want to develop the profession of growing flowers and ornamental plants; always uphold the spirit of mutual love and affection in production and business to develop the economy and improve living standards. Currently, his family is creating jobs for 10-20 workers, with an income of over 6 million VND/person/month. With his achievements, he has been awarded many Certificates of Merit and noble rewards. In particular, in 2022, Mr. Do Duy Bac was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for having an effective and stable production and business model, helping many farming households to eliminate hunger, reduce poverty and create jobs for many workers, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province. In addition, the Club also gathers many other typical farmers such as Mr. Dinh Van Thuan, a young billionaire farmer famous for his model of raising swiftlets combined with aquaculture and growing medicinal plants in Hai Dong commune (Hai Hau). In 2024, Mr. Dinh Van Thuan was honored by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union as one of the 63 most outstanding Vietnamese farmers in the country. Mr. Le Van Ban, Xuan Phuc commune (Xuan Truong) raises aquatic products; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Giang, Nam Dien commune (Nam Truc) produces and trades ornamental plants; Ms. Dao Thi Ha, Loc Hoa ward (Nam Dinh city) raises cordyceps mushrooms...

Although it was only recently established, the Outstanding Farmers and Businessmen Club of Nam Dinh province has affirmed its clear operational efficiency, bringing practical benefits to the club members and making important contributions to the socio -economic development of the locality. The club members are billionaire farmers who actively contribute and mobilize resources to participate in developing the Farmers Support Fund, introducing preferential capital sources from banks to support club members in investing in economic development, aiming to establish enterprises owned by farmers. In order to develop and expand the club's membership, in recent times, the provincial Farmers' Association has organized connections, supported visits, and learned from effective models of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas at home and abroad. The club also regularly exchanges and shares experiences in activities, improving the quality of life.

From the initial results, the Outstanding Farmers and Businessmen Club of Nam Dinh province has contributed to promoting the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably", attracting, gathering, and uniting effective farmers and businessmen, creating cohesion and spreading good and creative practices, typical advanced models in production and business activities.
