Hanoi FC lost 3-5 to Hai Phong FC in the hottest match of round 2 of V-League 2023-2024, which took place on the evening of October 29 at Hang Day Stadium. Despite having home field advantage and leading 2-1 after the first half, the home team Hanoi collapsed due to individual mistakes, as well as the cohesive play of Hai Phong FC.
Lucao do Break's hat-trick, along with two goals from Hoang Nam and Viet Hung, helped the port city team score five goals against Hanoi FC at Hang Day Stadium for the first time in history.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, coach Chu Dinh Nghiem said: "I appreciate the players' efforts. We scored early but were led by our opponents. In the second half, the players played with determination and took advantage of good opportunities to win this victory."
When asked about the turning point of the match, coach Chu Dinh Nghiem said that it was the situation where Van Quyet missed a penalty kick in the second half, when Hanoi Club was leading 2-1.
"That was Van Quyet's penalty kick. If he had scored from the 11m mark, everything would have been over. In the first half, Hai Phong Club was caught up in the opponent's style of play. I instructed the players to press high and play boldly in the second half to achieve this comeback," Mr. Nghiem affirmed.
Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem
Evaluating Lucao's impressive performance against his former team with 3 goals, coach Chu Dinh Nghiem shared: "Lucao is very capable. I think he played well for Hanoi FC but was pushed away because of the coach's philosophy. When the players met their former team, they were very determined to score. Lucao was not himself in the first half but played better in the second half."
When asked about the lighting failure in the second half, Mr. Nghiem revealed: "Of course it had an impact. But when the referee asked, both teams agreed to play. At that time, there were the captains, head coaches and presidents of both teams. Rescheduling would have been very difficult for both teams and the organizers, so we continued playing."
