It was a hard-fought victory, but it showed the tireless efforts and unwavering desire to win until the very last minute of the U22 Vietnam players. Importantly, Coach Kim Sang-sik's team has reached the final, competing for the gold medal in men's football at the 33rd SEA Games.

In a victorious pose, the South Korean strategist said: "We are very happy to have beaten the Philippines U22 team today to advance to the final. I am very proud that our players fought until the very last minute and never gave up. I would also like to thank the fans who came to the stadium to cheer us on, as well as the spectators in Vietnam. Thanks to this great encouragement, we were able to overcome difficulties and win."

According to coach Kim Sang-sik, both the Vietnam U22 and Philippines U22 teams gave their best and created a great match. "However, we were luckier and therefore secured the victory. If I had to rate them on a scale of 100, I would readily give my players 100 points, even 120 points, because they excelled in every aspect, from physical and mental preparation to fighting spirit," he shared.

Regarding the upcoming final match, coach Kim Sang-sik said that regardless of the opponent, whether it's U22 Thailand or U22 Malaysia, his team will fight their hardest to win the gold medal.

The South Korean coach continued: "We (the Vietnamese national team) also played the final at Rajamangala Stadium in January this year, and now we are back at this stadium to play another final, which is truly wonderful. I've said before that there's no mountain we can't climb; we can become the winning team."

In this match, regardless of the opponent, as long as we prepare thoroughly and play according to plan, we are fully capable of winning the championship. I always tell the players that the SEA Games 33 is a tournament where we will fight for the honor of our country. Therefore, we will prepare meticulously and try our best to win."

In addition, coach Kim Sang-sik also praised Dinh Bac for "playing very hard, giving his all, and creating good energy for the whole team," and revealed that he had met with Dinh Bac privately before the match and told him not to be satisfied with his current position, but to compete with higher goals.

"Dinh Bac lived up to my expectations and played well. He has a lot of experience playing in the V-League, but I also told him that he should challenge himself in higher leagues such as in Europe, Japan, or the K-League," he commented.

The final match of the men's football tournament at the 33rd SEA Games will take place on December 18th at the Rajamangala National Stadium, two days before the closing ceremony of the 2025 Southeast Asian Games .
