After the Indonesian team, Thailand and Singapore both do not have a head coach.
This is a surprising development for teams in the Southeast Asian region when 3 places including Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore all have vacant head coach positions, because the military leaders Kluivert (Netherlands), Masatada Ishii and Tsutomu Ogura (both Japanese) have been fired.

With the vacancy in the coaching positions of these teams, famous Korean coaches, including Park Hang-seo (former coach of the Vietnam national team) and Shin Tae-yong, who is currently unemployed, were immediately mentioned as potential replacement candidates.
Coach Kim Sang-sik of the Vietnamese team is not on this list, because he is very satisfied and happy with his current job, maintaining stable results for the entire U.23 team preparing for the 33rd SEA Games this coming December.
Recently, coach Shin Tae-yong was invited back to the Indonesian national team right after coach Kluivert was fired. However, the time when Indonesian fans called on PSSI to invite Shin Tae-yong back was right when this 55-year-old coach was involved in a controversy when he was fired by Ulsan HD Club (South Korea) due to many internal disagreements on October 9.
Mr. Shin Tae-yong at that time denied the information that he would return to the Indonesian team. However, he recently expressed on the media channel Goalpost that he is very ready and prioritizes returning to lead the Indonesian football team if he accepts a suitable invitation.
"If there is an offer, of course I will consider it. But my principle is, if there is a good offer, I am willing to accept anything. Honestly, my heart is always with Indonesia. Even if there is a slightly better offer from another country, but Indonesia sincerely offers, Indonesia will always be my first choice," coach Shin Tae-yong confirmed.
However, Shin Tae-yong also confirmed that up to this point (October 22), he has not received any offers from PSSI, after this football agency held a meeting to discuss finding a new coach on October 21.

Mr. Park Hang-seo (former coach of the Vietnam national team) is also currently being invited by many teams in Southeast Asia.

"(The offer) from Indonesia? No. There has been no phone call or official offer. Absolutely nothing," coach Shin Tae-yong affirmed.
Mr. Shin Tae-yong led the Indonesian national team and the U.23 team from 2020 to early 2025, then was fired. During his time leading the Indonesian national team, he helped the team rise 48 places in the FIFA rankings, from 173rd to 125th in early 2025.
Besides coach Shin Tae-yong, former coach of Vietnam national team, Mr. Park Hang-seo is also mentioned by Indonesian press as a candidate for the hot seat of the national team of thousands of islands. Coach Park Hang-seo has not yet spoken out about the information that he was recommended to lead the Indonesian national team.
In addition, the Indonesian press also revealed the possibility that PSSI will continue to pursue the dream of "Dutchification", when it will invite another Dutch coach to lead the team, Mr. Frank de Boer. Besides, Mr. Timur Kapadze, the former coach of the Uzbekistan team, is also a candidate.
Meanwhile, the two teams Thailand and Singapore are starting the process of finding a new coach to replace them. For the Thai team, there is news that former player Kiatisuk Senamuang (former coach of HAGL Club) will return, while Singapore is using interim coach Gavin Lee, who may sign an official and long-term contract.
