Two days before the Vietnamese team left for Qatar to compete in the 2023 Asian Cup, coach Philippe Troussier and his players officially appeared in public in their new uniforms. This was also an exchange event for the French coach and some players to sign jerseys for fans.
Due to a busy and stressful work schedule with many bad news about the team recently, Coach Troussier seemed tired. However, the nearly 70-year-old coach still signed autographs very enthusiastically, sometimes having to stop for a moment to reduce the fatigue in his hands.

The official uniform collection of the Vietnamese teams was announced last week. The new uniform carries the message "Vietnam's Pride - The Mountains and Rivers Continue to Advance", inspired by traditional values, with the five-pointed star symbol on the national flag and the image of the Lac bird on the Dong Son bronze drum. This is a pattern that represents the quintessence of traditional culture, carries the spiritual identity, and shows pride in the national flag and colors.
The 2023 Asian Cup is the first tournament in which the Vietnamese team will use this shirt. Coach Troussier's players will alternate between red (home) and white (away) as is tradition.

"I am very honored to wear the Vietnamese national team jersey to prepare for upcoming tournaments, first of all the 2023 Asian Cup. I will do my best for the national team," said striker Pham Tuan Hai. Immediately after this event, he and his teammates only had a few hours to rest before going to the training ground in the afternoon.
The Vietnamese team will leave for Qatar to attend the Asian Cup on January 5. Coach Troussier and his team will face Japan, Indonesia and Iraq. Before that, the Vietnamese team will play a closed friendly match with Kyrgyzstan in Qatar.
