U.19 Vietnam coach criticizes referee's mistake, author of masterpiece speaks out

After the 1-1 draw between U.19 Vietnam and U.19 Myanmar, coach Hua Hien Vinh shared: "The goal of U.19 Vietnam is to win 3 points. But that's football, we didn't get a favorable result in the first match. However, that doesn't mean that U.19 Vietnam's path to the semi-finals is gone. We still have to face U.19 Australia and U.19 Laos. I will talk to the players and find a plan for the next 2 matches."

Coach Hua Hien Vinh (right) said that the referee made several mistakes when officiating the match between U.19 Vietnam and U.19 Myanmar.

Coach Hua Hien Vinh said that during the preparation, the players were very excited. But when entering the first half, many positions were tense and they did not play well. In the second half, Mr. Vinh made adjustments and U.19 Vietnam played better with many attacks and created scoring opportunities. "Regarding tactics, I want the players to take advantage of the 24-meter area in front of the opponent's goal. I encouraged my students to boldly shoot from a distance. Hoang Quang Dung scored from such a situation. At the end of the match, U.19 Vietnam also had a good shot from a distance, but the referee ruled it offside."

"The referee made some mistakes while officiating. But after the match, I think that's normal in football. Hopefully, the referees will be able to officiate better in the next match," Mr. Vinh added.

Hoang Quang Dung (14) scored a superb long-range shot to regain a valuable point for U.19 Vietnam in the opening match.

For his part, the best player of the match, Hoang Quang Dung, shared: "The whole team played well but were not lucky enough to win. I would like to thank the U.19 Vietnam coaching staff for creating conditions for me to enter the field. The whole team will try to win 3 points in the next match, to strive towards the semi-finals. I feel very happy to have scored a goal to help U.19 Vietnam get 1 point. Thank you to the fans for cheering on the whole team."

In the second match of Group B - Southeast Asian U.19 tournament 2024, Vietnam U.19 team will face Australia U.19 at 3:00 p.m. on July 21.
