Launched at the end of 2022, the “She Thrives” project, sponsored by Cargill, is being implemented locally by CARE International in Vietnam in coordination with the Center for Community Development (CDC) and the government of Buon Ho town (old).

The project aims to support more than 15,000 people, mostly women and ethnic minorities, to improve their production capacity, financial management and market access through technical training, capital support, breeding, production materials and group models.

By the end of the implementation period, the project had exceeded its target by directly and indirectly supporting more than 16,000 people to practice sustainable agricultural production and improve their livelihoods.

Specifically, the project has organized dozens of training courses on livestock and poultry farming, coffee processing and handicraft production, directly supporting 5,260 people (60% of whom are women) to invest in expanding production scale, upgrading barns and connecting to effective markets, thereby helping to increase income and improve living conditions. In addition, 27 sustainable livelihood models have been supported and replicated, focusing on livestock farming, crop cultivation and agricultural processing.

In the field of microfinance, 31 capital support groups (VSLA) were established, with a total of 366 members, thereby mobilizing and circulating more than 1.4 billion VND in capital to serve essential production, business and consumption goals.

In addition, the project also supports traditional production groups to improve their market access capacity through technical innovation, product diversification and connecting with consumption partners.
