Accordingly, through the management of the area, the same morning, Tra Tan Commune Police discovered a foreign citizen with strange signs in the commune. Afterwards, the police force approached to grasp information and the situation.
Through verification, it is known that this person's name is Kyucheol, a Korean tourist who came to Vietnam for sightseeing . While sightseeing by motorbike in Hoi An, he got lost and drove to the mountainous district of Bac Tra My, more than 200km from Hoi An. When he left, Kyucheol did not bring his identification documents, currently does not remember his address, has no way to contact his family and cannot speak Vietnamese.
Faced with this situation, the Commune Police took Kyucheol to the headquarters to assist in finding relatives, encourage his spirit, and provide him with food and rest. Due to the lack of information and Kyucheol's inability to speak Vietnamese, the Police encountered many difficulties in exchanging and verifying relevant information. By 7:30 a.m., the Police had determined Kyucheol's residence and contacted his relatives so that he could soon reunite with his family.
According to Kyucheol's family, on June 22, Kyucheol, his mother and younger sister went sightseeing in Da Nang City. On June 24, the family went sightseeing in Hoi An and stayed in Hoi An City. At around 4:00 p.m. the same day, Kyucheol rented a motorbike at the hotel to visit Hoi An City and got lost until now.
At the commune police station, when she met her brother again, Ms. Lim Ji-hee (his younger sister) was extremely moved and grateful. She said that this was the first time she had brought her mother and brother to Vietnam for a tour. The family's trip had encountered an unfortunate incident but the police force had wholeheartedly supported and helped them.
