Support plane and train tickets for disadvantaged workers to return home for Tet

(Chinhphu.vn) - Union members and workers in difficult circumstances will be supported by the trade union organization with means of transportation to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet and return to work on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026.

Free trains take workers home for Tet

On October 29, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha, Member of the Presidium, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, said: Implementing Plan No. 34/KH-TLĐ dated October 15, 2025 of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on organizing activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is implementing a plan to organize activities to support means of transport for union members and workers to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet and return to work on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026.

This activity aims to reduce the financial burden for union members and workers who are still facing difficulties or have excellent achievements in labor and production; affirm the role, responsibility and comprehensive care of the trade union organization for union members and workers; contribute to ensuring traffic safety during the Lunar New Year...

Accordingly, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will organize "Trade Union Flight - Spring 2026".

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor allocated 500 one-way air tickets and 500 gifts worth 300,000 VND/ticket (cash) to the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor, Dong Nai Confederation of Labor, and Tay Ninh Confederation of Labor to support union members and workers returning home for Tet. Each union member and worker in this category is allowed to be accompanied by 1 person (husband/wife, father, mother, child). Before the flight, representatives of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the provincial and city Confederations of Labor organized a meeting and wished union members and workers a happy new year before boarding the flight back home at Tan Son Nhat Airport (HCMC).

Along with the "Union Flight - Spring 2026", the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also organizes the "Union Train - Spring 2026".

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor allocated 2,000 two-way train tickets and 2,000 gifts worth VND300,000 each (cash) to the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor, Dong Nai Confederation of Labor, Tay Ninh Confederation of Labor, and Vietnam Railways Trade Union to support union members and workers returning home for Tet. Each union member and worker in this category is allowed to be accompanied by no more than 3 people (husband/wife, father, mother, children). Before the train departs, representatives of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and provincial and municipal Confederations of Labor, and Vietnam Railways Trade Union organize meetings and wish union members and workers a happy new year before boarding the train to return home at the departure station (Saigon, Di An, Bien Hoa)...

The funding for organizing the "Trade Union Flight - Spring 2026" and "Trade Union Train - Spring 2026" is taken from the trade union financial resources of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; socialized sources; and support from partners who have signed cooperation agreements with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The online "Trade Union Tet Market - Spring 2026" will also be held. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will provide financial support through electronic vouchers (e-vouchers) for trade union members to purchase goods and consumer products on the official website (address: https://chotet.congdoan.vn, or the Program's smart device application (on IOS or Android operating systems).

Expected time of the Program: From 0:00 on December 20, 2025 to 24:00 on February 3, 2026 (from 0:00 on November 1 to 24:00 on December 16, At Ty year 2025).

The beneficiaries of the Program are union members of the Vietnam Trade Union system, with excellent achievements in labor and production, actively participating in activities organized by the union; union members with difficult circumstances and low income.

About 200,000 workers will be supported to participate in the Program, with a support level of VND 500,000/person.
