BSR officially launched the project to audit the safety and security of information technology systems.
As energy businesses increasingly rely on digital infrastructure and big data systems, information security is no longer just a technical requirement but has become a core foundation of modern corporate governance.
Faced with that reality, BSR implements information security audits according to leading international standards such as ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0, combined with the information security level assessment system according to regulations of the Vietnamese Government .
The project not only focuses on compliance assessment, but also aims to build the internal capacity of enterprises in managing, monitoring and responding to cybersecurity risks, in accordance with the Law on Cyber Security, Decree No. 85/2016/ND-CP and Decree No. 13/2023/ND-CP of the Government on personal data protection.
Mr. Dang Minh Tuan, Head of BSR Information Technology Department, commented: The implementation of the IT security audit project helps BSR comprehensively assess the security capacity of the existing IT system according to the Vietnam information security level scale. Identify potential risks and technical weaknesses, thereby building a systematic improvement roadmap. Strengthen network defense and data protection capabilities, ensuring safe, stable and continuous production and business activities for the company.
In particular, the project also aims to standardize the technology risk management model according to the international governance framework, helping BSR improve competitiveness and transparency in digital enterprise governance.
In the oil and gas - energy industry, where operational data and automation technology are highly specialized, building a comprehensive, synchronous security capability is a key factor in protecting the national energy supply chain.
BSR's information security audit project is also a practical step to implement the policy of the Vietnam National Energy Industry Group in ensuring information security, while concretizing the National Strategy on network safety and security to 2025, with a vision to 2030, towards the goal of "Ensuring information security as a vital factor in digital economic development".
Pioneering the implementation of security audits according to international standards helps BSR affirm its position as an industry-leading enterprise with advanced, safe and transparent technology management capabilities, while laying the foundation for replicating this model to enterprises in the Petrovietnam ecosystem.
By launching the IT security audit project, BSR continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to safe, sustainable and responsible digital transformation. The audit results will be an important basis for a long-term cybersecurity strategy, helping BSR strengthen its technology infrastructure autonomy, improve monitoring and incident response capabilities, and actively contribute to national cyber defense capabilities.
