In 2007, the Song Chang Youth Village project (youth village) was approved and implemented on an area of 600 hectares in Xuan Hoa commune, Nhu Xuan district. The project has a total investment of more than 32 billion VND, managed by Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union.
The project's goal is to bring many young people in the province here to start businesses, with the expectation that their youth and diligence will contribute to changing the socio -economy in a difficult area of Nhu Xuan district.
After announcing the recruitment, the project recruited 141 households, including 34 households that were resettled on-site (formerly workers of Song Chang Forestry). Each household participating in the project will be granted 400m2 of residential land and 3ha of production land.
However, up to now, many households in the project have left the village, leaving behind dilapidated houses, creating a desolate scene.
Mr. Le Van Tuyen, Chairman of Xuan Hoa Commune People's Committee, said that in 2017, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee decided to assign Xuan Hoa Commune to manage the population of the youth village and establish Thanh Nien village on the basis of the residential cluster of Song Chang Youth Village.
“The list of households in the youth village is 141. However, when recently registering for VNeID, there were only 90 households in the village. Of these, 67 households are permanent residents, 23 are irregular residents, and 51 households do not have VNeID,” said Mr. Tuyen.
Talking to VietNamNet , Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nhat - Head of the Provincial Youth Union Movement Committee and Captain of the Youth Volunteer Team for Economic Development (Song Chang Youth Village) admitted that currently there are many households who do not live permanently in the village.
“In the coming time, we will invite irregular households and households without VNeID to work and listen to their opinions and wishes. If the households do not wish to stay anymore, we will take them back and advise the leaders on how to handle the next steps.
The province has also had a policy of handing over land to local authorities for management. We are completing the documents to submit to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to issue red books to households that are living there regularly to stabilize their lives and production," said Mr. Nhat.
