The scene of two students in traditional costumes performing a fire-blowing act on stage became the highlight of the performance "Meeting in the Dream Forest" combined with "Pieu Scarf" which took place at the final round of the Performing Arts Competition - Painting Competition of Chi Linh High School, Hai Phong on November 8.
The performance was widely shared on social networks, attracting many comments because of its technique and style that is no different from that of professional artists.

The idea of "Tieu phuc" comes from songs with national melodies, appearing in the program "Anh trai Vuon ngan cong gai".
In the performance, 28 students in the class participated in the creation and performance, with one person taking on the role of main choreographer and four assistant choreographers assisting in the staging. During the month of preparation, the students divided their tasks, worked together to design movements, edit the formation and complete the performance.
The fire-blowing segment performed by two students, one male and one female, appeared near the end of the performance, creating a climax for the entire performance. When the two performed the fire-blowing technique on stage, the atmosphere in the schoolyard exploded, many students watching the program cheered in unison, expressing their excitement at the bold and impressive performance.
To perform this segment, students use a wooden stick, wrapped in an oiled towel around the end of the stick. When it comes to the fire-blowing part, students take a small amount of oil in their mouth and spray it out using a previously practiced technique to create fire. This is a detail that requires good coordination and control, contributing to the impression of the climax of the performance.
"Actually, this technique is not as difficult as people think, but it is very simple and safe to perform. We have practiced many times so we are used to it, performing the scene confidently and in the right rhythm of the performance," Quynh Anh, a student in grade 11I, shared.
Ms. Lan, homeroom teacher of class 11I, said that before the performance, she instructed the students about ensuring safety during the fire-blowing process. Immediately after completing the scene, the two students were asked to rinse their mouths to avoid any remaining oil and to limit any unwanted effects on their health. She said that following the instructions properly would help the students feel more confident when performing and ensure the safety of the entire performance.

In last year’s performance, the 11I class also performed the fire-blowing scene in the “Rice Drum” performance and received many compliments from teachers and classmates. Thanks to their confident and creative performance, the class gradually became one of the most noticed groups each performance season. Many students even joked that the 11I class had their own “fans”, always waiting to see what surprises the 11I class would bring on stage.
"We are working towards our goal of winning A prize in the art competition for three consecutive years. Next year is our final year, we will try to bring an impressive performance, leaving memorable memories for our student years," Quynh Anh shared.
