Within the framework of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Algeria, on November 19, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan and Secretary General of the Algerian Ministry of National Education, Ms. Dina Lila Soualili signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of education between the two governments.
The Agreement on cooperation in the field of education between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Algeria was built with the desire to create a legal basis for the implementation of specific cooperation activities in the field of education, promoting educational cooperation between the two sides to develop more strongly and extensively, thereby contributing to strengthening the general cooperation between the two countries.
Educational cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria was built on the foundation of traditional friendship since the 1960s. In the early 1980s, when both countries were in difficult times, Algeria donated funds to build the Vietnam - Algeria Friendship Secondary School in Hanoi , now the Vietnam - Algeria Secondary School.
During the 1970s and 1980s, Vietnam sent many experts, doctors and teachers to support Algeria after it gained independence. In recent decades, cooperation between the two countries in the field of education has been modest compared to the potential and aspirations of both sides.
The signing of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of education by the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Algeria during the visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his wife and the high-ranking delegation of Vietnam to Algeria will promote potential, realize wishes and open up opportunities for extensive cooperation in the field of education, contributing to further fostering the strong relationship between the two countries.
