About 200 delegates representing agencies, organizations, unions, affiliated units, member associations, experts, scientists ... attended the event.
Since its establishment 35 years ago, generations of VACNE members have continuously strived, worked hard, and actively contributed to the cause of environmental protection and sustainable development of the country. VACNE organizations and members have received many medals from the State, certificates of merit from ministries, local branches, and many noble awards.
According to Prof. Dr. Dang Huy Huynh, Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment, over the past 35 years, the Association has grown steadily, gathering an increasingly large community of people who want to act for a clean environment. Generations of leaders and members have all upheld a sense of responsibility and enthusiastically contributed to the Association's work. In each period, the Association has always created diverse and suitable forms of activities, always focusing on work efficiency from a community perspective.
Reporting on the results of the 7th term (2018 - 2023), Associate Professor, Dr. Phung Chi Sy, Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment, said that the Association has implemented many practical activities in protecting natural resources, the environment and climate change. The organization of the Association continues to be strengthened and developed; the Association's strengths in consulting, social criticism, and communication to raise public awareness in the fields of natural resources, the environment and climate change have achieved many new results. Scientific research and people's diplomacy on the environment have received attention and achieved many results.
Specifically, together with experts and scientists, VACNE has contributed to the work of building and adjusting Laws, giving opinions on Circulars, Decrees... related to the field of operation. Implementing many community communication action programs; participating in many events (national and international conferences and seminars); chairing and coordinating the implementation of many "green" projects such as: Sustainable ecotourism , book publishing; consulting, social criticism...; constantly expanding and improving the quality of activities of affiliated units, member organizations and especially activities of preserving and honoring Vietnam Heritage Trees...
Attending and congratulating the important results that the Association has achieved in the past time, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen - Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment hopes that the Association will continue to maintain its activities in accordance with its defined objectives, continue to proactively propose and participate in implementing related tasks of the natural resources and environment sector as well as in consulting, criticism and social appraisal, which is one of the traditional strengths of the Association.
At the Congress, delegates elected the 8th Central Executive Committee, with 132 members. The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment for this term also unanimously elected Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh to continue holding the important position of President of the Association for the 2023-2028 term.
During the 8th term (2023-2028), the Association's direction of operation is to continuously strengthen and develop the organization, meeting to the highest extent possible the community's social consulting and criticism requests through mass media and the Association. Thereby, making practical contributions to the cause of protecting the natural environment, responding to climate change, serving green growth, sustainable development of the country, meeting the expectations of organizations and members.
