The 2025 World Pool Championship saw several other thrilling matches. Shane Van Boening (USA) defeated Naoyuki Oi (Japan) in a dramatic "hill-hill" match with a score of 11-10, taking advantage of his opponent's mistake to end the match. Johann Chua (Philippines) also made it to the Last 32 after defeating Max Eberle (USA) 11-9, thanks to two beautiful strokes at the decisive moment when the score was 9-9. Meanwhile, Fedor Gorst (Russia) excellently defeated Jonas Souto (Spain) 11-9 with a classy 4-ball masse, affirming the nickname "The Ghost". However, Joshua Filler (Germany), a strong candidate, unexpectedly stopped by Max Lechner (Austria) with a score of 8-11, despite his efforts to equalize 8-8.

Duong Quoc Hoang, with his sharp attacking style and steady mentality, is the pride of Vietnamese billiards. Previously, he made a name for himself by defeating many famous players, and his performance at this year's tournament continued to show remarkable progress. The "golden break" against Maciol was not only a moment of peak technique but also demonstrated Hoang's mettle at key moments. Compared to strong opponents like Van Boening or Gorst, Hoang is not inferior in terms of skill and competitive spirit.

The Last 32 round promises to be full of challenges, but with his current form, Duong Quoc Hoang has every chance to continue writing history for Vietnamese billiards.
