Vietnam - Laos trade fair opens up new cooperation opportunities

This is a special event with the message of " Peace - Cooperation - Development", contributing to promoting foreign affairs, economic cooperation and cultural exchange for the stability and prosperous development of Vietnam and Laos.

Attending the event were representatives of the two countries ' Ministries of Defense ; representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos; and leaders of relevant ministries and branches of Vietnam and Laos. This fair is an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises in general and enterprises of the Vietnam People's Army in particular to exchange, discuss, and seek potential partners; expand trade relations with Lao enterprises and enterprises of the Lao People's Army, serving the needs of the people of the two countries and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region.

With an exhibition area of 7,000 m², gathering 150 standard booths of more than 70 units and enterprises, the fair is organized to contribute to widely promoting the special traditional friendship, the spirit of solidarity, mutual support and assistance between the people and armies of the two countries in the history of national liberation struggle, as well as in the cause of national construction today.

Colonel Phan Duong Minh, Deputy Chief of Staff of the General Department of Defense Industry, representing the Vietnamese Organizing Committee, emphasized that the fair aims to promote defense cooperation between Vietnam and Laos; strengthen strategic trust; enhance the position and prestige of Vietnam and the Vietnam People's Army in the international arena, and actively contribute to building a sustainable ASEAN Community. This event also aims to support the Vietnamese community in Laos; create conditions for businesses, especially defense industry businesses, to promote their brands, expand production and business cooperation; as well as introduce the image of the country, culture and people of Vietnam to international friends.

Speaking to a VNA reporter in Vientiane, Major General Keosouvanh Phangphilavong, Director of the Propaganda Department, General Department of Politics of the Lao People's Army, affirmed that the above event has special significance in the context of Laos preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Day and the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Kaysone Phomvihane. |

According to Major General Keosouvanh Phangphilavong, the fair is an opportunity to strengthen integration, connect trade and promote products of enterprises of the two countries, especially military enterprises; at the same time, further tighten the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries, promoting the development of defense industrial products of the two armies.

At this international fair, Vietnam's Vinaseed Group also brought agricultural products, including high-quality branded rice - corn - vegetables and rice varieties, in which LVN10 hybrid corn continued to be a highlight at the Vinaseed booth because this is Vinaseed's main corn variety that is being widely distributed in many provinces and cities in Laos, through Vinaseed Ba Vi branch, Vinaseed Thai Binh and its member company - Southern Seed Joint Stock Company (SSC).

The fair is also an opportunity for Vinaseed team to continue to exchange with partners, learn more about the practical needs of the Lao market, thereby developing seed products suitable for soil conditions and aiming at the sustainable development of agriculture of the two countries.

Also within the framework of this event, the organizing committee presented 20 gifts to policy families of the Lao armed forces and supported 30 computers and 10 printers for the Lao Ministry of National Defense and the Lao Department of Economics.

The Vietnam - Laos Trade Fair will last until November 23.
