Can Tho City Red Cross Society launches Humanitarian Month 2025

Ms. Le Thi Bach Dang, Permanent Vice President of the Can Tho City Red Cross Association, presented a symbolic board of support for the Red Cross house, sponsored by the Can Tho Lottery State-owned One Member Company Limited, to a poor household in Co Do district.

Humanitarian Month is a peak month for the whole people to do humanitarian work, organized annually, launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society with the theme "Humanitarian Journey - Spreading Love". In 2025, Humanitarian Month takes place from March 1 to May 31, 2025, associated with the celebration of major holidays of the country and people, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, the reunification of the country; the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh - the founder of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the first Honorary President of the Society. Humanitarian Month aims to spread the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of solidarity, and humanity of the Vietnamese people, encourage the spirit of national pride and self-respect, and promote the volunteer spirit of Red Cross cadres, members, volunteers, and youth; The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement... gradually changes awareness of humanitarian work, spreading humane behavior among all classes of people.

At the launching ceremony, the Red Cross Society of Can Tho City and Co Do District presented a symbolic board to support 2 Red Cross houses worth 100 million VND, and gave 100 gifts worth 50 million VND to households in difficult circumstances, supported by the Can Tho Lottery State-owned One Member Company Limited and other benefactors. At the same time, the Red Cross Society of Co Do District mobilized cadres, members, and volunteers to donate to the humanitarian fund, receiving over 20.5 million VND to promptly support difficult circumstances.
