According to Master Huynh Tu Anh, hospital infections cause serious disease burdens and negative economic impacts, not only for patients and their families, but also for the health system. In particular, many new emerging diseases are complicated and related to infections. Therefore, proper hand hygiene helps clean hands to protect lives and effectively prevent disease transmission. Therefore, the World Health Organization has chosen May 5 every year as World Hand Hygiene Day to call for the participation of all health facilities, health workers, and the whole society in performing hand hygiene at the right time and in the right way. According to the World Health Organization, just a simple hand washing action can reduce the risk of infection by up to 35%.
With the message that gloves do not replace hand hygiene, Master Huynh Tu Anh calls on all medical staff to practice good hand hygiene to build a clean and safe hospital environment.
On this occasion, individuals and groups that complied well with hand hygiene were awarded.
