This country of 28 million people is currently among the six Latin American countries that have achieved high results at the Olympics.
Notably, Venezuelans, especially the youth, are increasingly fond of martial arts not only for their health benefits but also for training their will, courage and self-defense skills. Therefore, Vovinam - a combination of martial arts and personalityeducation - will certainly be warmly welcomed by the Venezuelan people.

Minister Franklin Cardillo affirmed that the Venezuelan Ministry of Sports will direct the development of a cooperation plan with Vietnam to soon bring Vovinam to the country. He said that in the immediate future, the Ministry of Sports will invite Vovinam masters to introduce this martial art, and at the same time organize training courses, train Vovinam masters and coaches, and move towards opening Vovinam martial arts schools nationwide.
For his part, Ambassador Vu Trung My welcomed the efforts of the Venezuelan Ministry of Sports in promoting bilateral relations between the two countries. The Ambassador affirmed that with a history of thousands of years of building and defending the country, Vietnam has crystallized and developed many unique martial arts, of which Vovinam is not only a martial art but also a philosophy of life. Learners not only train their physical strength (body) but also cultivate morality and spiritual qualities (mind). This creates a balance between strength and compassion.

According to Ambassador Vu Trung My, Vovinam has been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism since 2023. Currently, Vovinam has attracted more than 2 million students in over 70 countries and territories around the world. In addition, Vietnam is preparing a dossier to submit to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for Vovinam to be recognized as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
According to the Ambassador, Venezuela becoming the first country in Latin America to welcome and spread Vovinam not only contributes to the development of the country's sports movement but also serves as a cultural bridge, connecting the friendship and cooperation between the people of Vietnam and Venezuela.
