This was followed by a Workshop in Manila, Philippines in January 2025, focusing on monitoring and evaluating gender equality policies in sports.

Research conducted in several countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines in their respective cultural and social contexts has contributed to affirming the importance of sport for women and girls. The project also supports online meetings with ASEAN countries to discuss gender equality issues and national action plans.

During 2023 and 2024, a number of surveys were conducted to understand the aspirations and frameworks in each country, collect gender-disaggregated data to see the priority issues in each country, and analyze to find common problems that all 10 Southeast Asian countries are facing.
