Miss World 2025 Final: Y Nhi missed the top 20

VOV.VN - Vietnam's representative - Miss Huynh Tran Y Nhi - despite receiving many expectations before the G hour, could not make it into the Top 20, stopping at the final Top 40 position.

On the evening of May 31, the final night of the Miss World 2025 contest officially took place in India, concluding a journey that lasted nearly a month with a series of exciting activities and competitions. Vietnam's representative - Miss Huynh Tran Y Nhi - despite receiving high expectations before the G hour, could not make it into the Top 20, stopping at the final Top 40 position.

According to the new mechanism applied by Miss World this year, all 108 contestants from all countries and territories are divided into 4 regions: Asia - Pacific , Africa, Europe, and America - Caribbean. Each region has a separate evaluation round, based on the total score from the sub-competitions, charity project (Beauty With A Purpose), Head to Head Challenge video and performance on the main stage. This is the first time Miss World has applied a strict classification and screening form by region, creating an evaluation mechanism that is considered fairer and more realistic.

From each region, the judges selected the Top 10 outstanding contestants, then further narrowed down the selection to find the Top 5 representatives to advance to the Q&A round. However, Ý Nhi was not among the Top 5 in the Asia- Pacific region, meaning she could not progress to the Top 20. Although the result was not as expected, Ý Nhi's presence and efforts throughout her journey at Miss World 2025 are still recognized. Reaching the Top 40 in a global beauty pageant with a long history is also a significant achievement for the Vietnamese representative.

Before the final night, Ý Nhi presented two evening gown designs, finally choosing the design named Garden of Eden to perform on the decisive stage. With a tight fishtail shape, combined with gentle pastel tones, the dress created a soft and airy effect. The highlight was the elaborate embellishment on the chest and skirt, highlighting the elegance and sophistication of the wearer.

The Miss World 2025 finals opened with a spectacular artistic performance, recreating the vibrant festival atmosphere of India. Contestants appeared in their respective national costumes, creating a vibrant cultural parade. Stage effects, lighting and music created a complete visual feast, contributing to elevating this year's contest.

In addition to the performances, Miss World 2025 also stands out for its systematic changes in the competition rules. After selecting the Top 10 regions, the judges continue to screen to find the Top 5 regions, then select the final candidates to enter the Top 8 to compete for the crown. The ability to inspire, behave and demonstrate the role of a global ambassador becomes the key criteria to choose the new Miss.
