On December 17, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held a conference to review the Committee for the Advancement of Women in 2024. Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi chaired the conference.
Reporting at the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Teachers andEducational Managers Pham Tuan Anh said: Based on reviewing the targets and objectives, understanding the current status of implementation for the advancement of women and gender equality in localities and affiliated public service units, the Ministry of Education and Training synthesizes and obtains overall data on the current status of women's advancement and gender equality.

Training on gender equality and women's advancement is regularly organized. The training content provides knowledge and skills for members of the Women's Advancement Committee of each unit, aiming to put activities into practice, change awareness about the work for women's advancement and gender equality, and is an opportunity to enhance learning and exchange between units.
The Committee for the Advancement of Women regularly inspects the implementation of state management work for the advancement of women and gender equality in units, contributing to removing difficulties and obstacles, and clearly orienting the unit's activities in the following years.

In particular, strengthening inter-sectoral coordination, agencies and departments, and mobilizing social resources to increase cohesion and sustainability.
The Department of Education and Training of Ben Tre province has integrated gender equality and women's advancement into the key activities of the year, focusing on skills to protect teachers, staff, children and prevent school violence. At the same time, promote communication activities at educational institutions on gender equality and women's advancement. To better implement this task in the coming time, Ben Tre province has made proposals related to the implementation content and policies for personnel performing the tasks of the Women's Advancement Committee at all levels.

According to Vice President of the Vietnam Education Trade Union Dang Hoang Anh, in 2024, the Vietnam Education Trade Union has issued many instructions to link the activities of the Women's Union of trade unions at all levels with the activities of the Committee for the Advancement of Women of the entire industry. In order for tasks and activities to be implemented effectively, each year the Vietnam Education Trade Union issues documents guiding specific tasks as well as separate topics. Through the guidance, the Vietnam Education Trade Union also clearly understands the information, activities, inspections, and reports to urge trade unions at all levels throughout the process of performing tasks.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi commented: The 2024-2025 school year is a year of implementing many important tasks, a pivotal year and all cadres, teachers and employees of the education and training sector play an important role in implementing the goals and tasks. In particular, the role of nearly 1.2 million female cadres, teachers and employees out of a total of 1.6 million cadres of the entire education sector is very important.
“This shows the position, great influence and impact of women, female cadres, teachers, staff and the leadership, guidance and inspiration of the Committee for the Advancement of Women,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.

According to the Deputy Minister, the implementation of tasks in 2024 shows that female cadres, teachers and employees are shining examples of sacrifice and overcoming difficulties. From remote mountainous areas and islands, more than anyone else, the leadership of female cadres, teachers and employees is needed. In the context of social and scientific development, female cadres and teachers have also strived to innovate and achieved many remarkable achievements.
“That is the affirmation of position and status in performing tasks, the contribution of female cadres and teachers to overcome limits, prejudices and themselves to assert themselves, contributing to the common development of the education sector and society,” said the Deputy Minister.
In order for the activities of the Committee for the Advancement of Women to continue to be effective in 2025, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Chi noted the need to coordinate, increase exchanges, training, improve knowledge, and improve the qualifications of female cadres, teachers, and female employees.
