Scientific seminar on updating and diagnosing neck and shoulder pain syndrome

On September 18, in Phan Rang ward, Khanh Hoa province's Oriental Medicine Association organized a scientific workshop on updating and diagnosing neck and shoulder pain syndrome using traditional medicine combined with modern medicine. The workshop was held in person and online, with nearly 200 members of the Oriental Medicine Association at all levels and traditional medicine departments in the province participating.

At the workshop, delegates were updated on knowledge about cervical shoulder syndrome by leading doctors, physicians, and experts in the field of traditional medicine in Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa. The focus was on the following contents: Frequency of occurrence and impact on health and quality of life; pain mechanism, diagnosis and selection of appropriate treatment methods; serious complications of cervical shoulder syndrome that are common if not detected and treated promptly. Along with that, delegates were exposed to treatment methods combining traditional medicine with modern medicine for the above pathology; at the same time, they exchanged and shared experiences with lecturers in professional activities.

Delegates were updated with knowledge about neck and shoulder syndrome from experts.

It is known that, in order to improve the quality of the team of traditional medicine practitioners, every year, the Provincial Oriental Medicine Association in collaboration with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the Institute of Traditional Medicine of Ho Chi Minh City organizes many seminars, training courses, and professional knowledge training on traditional medicine for officials and members. The association levels also organize conferences for members to exchange experiences in medical examination and treatment, and share valuable remedies. The Provincial Oriental Medicine Association alone has collected and preserved more than 300 good remedies for treating musculoskeletal diseases, nervous breakdown, rheumatism, cirrhosis, ascites, asthma, gallstones, etc.
