The representative of the consulting unit presented the draft report on the provincial environmental status for the period 2021 - 2025.
The report of the consulting unit stated: In recent years, the province's socio -economic development has been constantly developing, contributing to the promotion of industrialization and modernization. The development of industry, agriculture, construction and tourism has brought practical benefits to society. On the other hand, it has also significantly impacted the province's environment. Water, air and soil pollution has directly affected the ecological environment, the flora and fauna and directly affected people's health.
The province is facing many environmental problems that need to be solved such as: The situation of increasing solid waste (SW) and the collection and treatment of SW has not been thoroughly handled. Environmental pollution due to urban development is not consistent with the development of technical infrastructure (the formation of new residential and urban construction projects is mainly polluted by domestic wastewater).
Environmental pollution caused by wastewater from livestock and aquaculture. Saltwater intrusion, natural disasters and environmental incidents caused by climate change. The formation and operation of industrial parks and industrial clusters lead to environmental pollution caused by industrial and handicraft production in craft villages due to direct discharge of wastewater and emissions into the environment.
Forest quality and biodiversity are declining. Soil quality is deteriorating due to agricultural chemicals and wasteful use of land resources. Mineral exploitation, mainly sand, causes subsidence and landslides due to illegal exploitation, causing subsidence in some areas.
Delegates spoke and contributed to the draft report on the province's environmental status for the period 2021 - 2025.
At the workshop, delegates said that the assessment of water and waste treatment systems needs to be realistic. Data needs to be complete and updated. Among the pressures, it is necessary to identify urgent and necessary pressures to have accompanying solutions. The solutions proposed need to be consistent with the province's general planning.
The Consulting Unit received the delegates' comments and will soon complete them for the Department of Agriculture and Environment to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval and publication of the results of the Provincial Environmental Status Report for the period 2021 - 2025.
