In the strong flow of change of the times, when the country enters the digital age, aiming for sustainable, green and comprehensive development, the spirit of emulation plays a more important role than ever. No longer just a resounding call in wartime, emulation has now become a method of social organization, an endogenous driving force promoting development and innovation in all fields.

On June 11, 1948, amidst the flames of the resistance war against French colonialism, President Ho Chi Minh issued a short but meaningful appeal: “Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation”. The appeal not only awakened the spirit of patriotism in every citizen but also opened up a new system of values, where patriotism is expressed through concrete and practical actions in labor, production, study, combat and dedication.

Emulation, according to his ideology, is not only an expression of sentiment but also a method of organizing the revolution; it does not stop at slogans but must be closely linked to the specific tasks of each individual and collective. He emphasized: Emulation must be substantial, not formal, and must be directed towards the immediate interests of the people and the sustainable development of the nation.

It is from this spirit that throughout the history of the revolution, patriotic emulation has continuously developed, creating practical action movements such as: "Popular education", "Golden week", "Crop preservation", then "Each person works as two", "Three ready", "Three responsible" in the resistance war against the US, saving the country. Later, in the renovation process, the movements: "Elimination of hunger, poverty reduction", "All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas", or "New countryside", "Enterprise integration and development" ... continue to demonstrate the enduring vitality of the emulation ideology in the hearts of the nation.

Nowadays, emulation is not only present in slogans or campaigns but also a persistent flow, deeply penetrating into innovation activities, modernizing the administrative apparatus, developing the digital economy , and promoting green transformation. A typical example is the movement "The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation" launched by the Prime Minister. This is a vivid inheritance of President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, and at the same time, it is also a testament to a new perspective on emulation: Closely linked to reality, with the goal of socio-economic development, modernizing the country and improving the quality of life of the people.

From the central to local levels, emulation movements are taking place in many diverse and practical forms. Models of e-government, smart cities, and online public services not only demonstrate efforts in administrative reform but are also the result of positive action thinking, innovation in organization, management, and service methods for the people. In the fields of production and business, the spirit of emulation is reflected in the continuous improvement of technology, application of artificial intelligence, big data, and blockchain in business operations, governance, and market expansion.

Ineducation , many schools across the country are promoting digital transformation, applying electronic learning materials, online teaching, helping students access knowledge in more modern ways. In healthcare, the application of technology to electronic medical records, remote examination and treatment is gradually creating positive changes, improving the quality of community health care. These are vivid manifestations showing that patriotic emulation has become a means to improve national competitiveness in the integration era.

Notably, the emulation movement to develop the private economy is also making a clear mark. From facing many barriers, this sector is increasingly recognized as an important driving force of the economy. Under the direction of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo, many private enterprises have been growing strongly, pioneering in innovation, expanding investment, creating jobs and contributing to economic growth. Many small enterprises and individual business households have affirmed their position in the market, contributing to the country's sustainable industrialization and modernization.

Along with that, emulation movements in the field of social security have also been widely deployed, promoting the spirit of mutual love and community cohesion. Building charity houses, caring for the poor, supporting people in difficult circumstances, and the disadvantaged in society... are becoming regular activities with strong spreading effects, creating a more sustainable and humane social foundation.

It can be said that today, emulation is no longer a "loud" or formal activity but has become a cultural value in the behavior and thinking of each citizen. In particular, when the reward work is carried out publicly, fairly and promptly, emulation is more effective, encouraging small but practical initiatives, encouraging dedication in daily work. Simple but noble examples, quiet but effective innovations are adding positive energy to society, multiplying the belief in positive and sustainable change.

The patriotic emulation movement today is still quietly shaping the fundamental values for the country's development. The desire to rise up, the will to constantly learn, create, and contribute to the community... has been and is being strongly aroused. That is also the way to realize Uncle Ho's wish to build our country more and more decent and beautiful.

In the context of a volatile world, with many challenges intertwined with opportunities, promoting the spirit of patriotic emulation is not only a continuation of tradition but also the right choice to enhance national strength. More than ever, the voluntary, proactive and creative participation of each citizen, organization and enterprise is the decisive factor for the country to move forward steadily.
