Hojlund frankly shared: "Really disappointed, maybe that's the most accurate word to describe how I feel. Not scoring of course affects me a lot. I always want to get on the scoresheet. I would be more worried if I didn't care about that. I went through a period where I really wanted to do better."
Asked how he deals with criticism, Hojlund said he limits his use of social media to avoid being affected by negative comments. He added: "I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend and family and I'm getting a dog."
As one of the most watched clubs in the world , MU always faces public scrutiny, and many players cannot avoid criticism from the media as well as club legends. Hojlund is under a lot of pressure, especially during the 22-match goal drought.
The Danish striker finally ended his goal drought when he scored in a 3-0 win over Leicester City on March 17, just before leaving for the Danish national team.
MU recruited Hojlund from Atalanta in the summer of 2023 for a price that could reach £72 million. However, since then, the striker has only scored 24 goals for the "Red Devils". There is information that MU is willing to sell Hojlund to recruit another striker.
Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta or Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon are two names mentioned.
