More than 1,500 candidates registered to take the entrance exam to Lam Son High School for the Gifted

Information from Lam Son High School for the Gifted said that the school has received 1,561 applications for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year.

The specialized blocks with the highest number of candidates are: Informatics has 164 candidates registered/35 targets (of which 36 candidates registered for the specialized subject of Informatics/18 targets for admission by Informatics and 128 candidates registered for the specialized subject of Mathematics/17 targets for admission by Mathematics); Literature has 249 candidates registered/35 targets; English has 309 candidates registered/70 targets...

The remaining specialized blocks, specifically: Math has 191 registered candidates/70 targets; Physics has 111 registered candidates/35 targets; Chemistry has 141 registered candidates/35 targets; Biology has 115 registered candidates/35 targets; History has 140 registered candidates/35 targets; Geography has 141 registered candidates/35 targets.

It is known that in the 2023-2024 school year, Lam Son High School for the Gifted will enroll 11 specialized classes with a total of 385 students (35 students/class). Of which, Math and English Specialization, 2 classes each; Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, 1 class each. For the Informatics specialized class, 18 students will be recruited from candidates taking the specialized subject exam which is Informatics; 17 students will be recruited from candidates taking the specialized subject exam which is Math for Informatics. Students who are eligible to register for the entrance exam to grade 10 of Lam Son High School for the Gifted can only register for a maximum of 1 wish to take the exam in 1 specific specialized class.

Each candidate must take 03 general subject exams (Literature, Mathematics and English) and 01 specialized subject exam according to their registered wishes. Time for general subjects: 120 minutes for Literature and Mathematics; 60 minutes for English; specialized subjects: 150 minutes. All exams are in essay format. The specialized English exam includes listening skills. The IT exam is in the form of computer programming. The general subject exam is calculated with a coefficient of 1; the specialized subject exam is calculated with a coefficient of 2. The exam content is within the current secondary school curriculum; mainly in the 9th grade curriculum.

The entrance exam for grade 10 of Lam Son High School for the Gifted will take place in 2 days: May 26 and 27, 2023. Admission deadline is before June 8, 2023.
