According to data from the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, during the Lunar New Year holiday, from February 8th to 14th, the country's tourism industry is estimated to have welcomed and served 10.5 million domestic tourists (a 16.6% increase compared to the same period in 2023). Of these, approximately 3.5 million were overnight visitors (a 75% increase compared to the same period in 2023); the average occupancy rate is estimated at around 45-50% at tourist accommodation establishments (especially high-end 4-5 star accommodations in some key tourist destinations achieved higher occupancy rates, concentrated on the 3rd and 4th days of the Lunar New Year).

Below are the top 10 localities that received the largest number of tourists and generated the highest revenue during the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday. Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City is estimated to have welcomed 1.8 million tourists, an increase of 5.9%; total revenue from tourism is estimated at 6,550 billion VND, an increase of 4% compared to the same period in 2023. Quang Ninh welcomed 803,570 tourists, an increase of 56%. Hanoi welcomed 653,000 tourists, an increase of 21.6%; total revenue from tourism is estimated at 2,350 billion VND, an increase of 35.1%. Thanh Hoa is estimated to have welcomed 635,000 tourists, an increase of 48.7%; total revenue from tourism is estimated at 588 billion VND, an increase of 51.2%. Khanh Hoa is estimated to have welcomed 630,300 tourists, including 191,000 overnight visitors, an increase of 25.8%. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at nearly 878 billion VND. Ba Ria-Vung Tau is estimated to have welcomed 592,650 visitors, an increase of 36.0%; total revenue from tourism is over 409 billion VND, an increase of 12.7%. Ninh Binh welcomed 580,000 visitors, an increase of 46%. Tay Ninh is estimated to have welcomed 520,720 visitors, an increase of 3.7%; total revenue from tourism reached 376 billion VND, an increase of 55%. Da Nang is estimated to have welcomed 402,000 visitors, an increase of 37%; total revenue from tourism is estimated at approximately 1,580 billion VND. Quang Nam is estimated to have welcomed 305,000 visitors, an increase of 35%; total revenue from tourism is estimated at approximately 1,580 billion VND.
