The project is managed by the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense ; the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is the funding agency. The project will be implemented in all communes and wards in Dong Nai province. In 2026, the total project cost will be more than 4 million USD (equivalent to more than 100.6 billion VND).

The project aims to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities in Dong Nai province, including issues such as: Health, rehabilitation, expanding social services, supporting social integration for people with disabilities, improving public attitudes towards people with disabilities, etc.

It is expected that in 2026, more than 4,300 people with disabilities (including disabled children and people with disabilities affected by Agent Orange/dioxin and family members of disabled people) will receive support from the project. In addition, the project will also train and improve professional capacity for medical staff, staff and relatives of disabled people participating in the project.

At the meeting, the relevant parties agreed on the project implementation plan. Deputy Director of Dong Nai Department of Health Le Anh Tuan requested relevant units to focus on training rehabilitation staff and increasing the number of times people with disabilities are screened.

The leaders of Dong Nai Department of Health proposed that the project continue to support equipment, machinery, and rehabilitation tools for hospitals and medical centers in the province to better serve the health care of people with disabilities and support people with disabilities to integrate into society.
