Candidates of the capital have officially entered the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools in Hanoi for the 2025-2026 school year. From 8:00 a.m., students will start taking the first subject exam, Literature, with a time limit of 120 minutes.
According to data from the Hanoi Departmentof Education and Training, 102,365 candidates completed exam procedures yesterday morning, June 6.
To be admitted to grade 10 of non-specialized public high schools in Hanoi for the 2025-2026 school year, candidates must take all three exams: Literature, Foreign Language, and Math in the exams held on June 7 and 8.
After the Literature exam this morning, in the afternoon, candidates will continue with the second exam, Foreign Language.

This year, the Exam applies new Examination Regulations and Admission Regulations, so the new contents are clearly disseminated to candidates, especially regulations on candidate responsibilities and a list of prohibited items to bring into the exam room.
Regarding the exam, the scope of knowledge is within the curriculum, not challenging, not beyond the curriculum. The Department of Education and Training has announced the exam format structure from the beginning of the school year so that students can familiarize themselves with the format of the exam, the way it is set, and the direction of review.
The examination sites have also prepared early and fully to best serve the examination and the candidates. At the examination sites, discipline is tightened and forces are deployed ready to support the candidates. All of this creates a safe, serious and convenient examination space for candidates to concentrate on doing the test.
The Hanoi 10th grade entrance exam is an annual exam, characterized by high competition and large scale. Hanoi City is determined to organize the 2025-2026 school year's 10th grade entrance exam safely and seriously, ensuring the exam results are substantial and objective.

One of the stages that receives special attention is exam supervision. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires invigilators to firmly grasp the principles of "3 no's, 4 and 6 clear" in exam supervision. "3 no's" include: Do not be negligent or subjective; do not be too stressed or pressured; do not arbitrarily handle situations beyond your authority; "4 right's" include following the regulations and instructions correctly; following the process and procedures; following the correct position and responsibilities; handling situations correctly according to instructions; "6 clear's" include clearly who is performing the task, clearly what is done, clearly what is responsible, clearly what is authorized, clearly what is time, and clearly what is the result.

Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong emphasized the requirement for invigilators and exam staff to absolutely perform their duties in accordance with the responsibilities and instructions of the exam site manager. Exam sites always have backup plans to deal with unexpected situations and are unified in the view that the Regulations are the foundation for implementation.
"Teachers must strictly follow the regulations, take the exam seriously, uphold the position of teachers in the capital, and be exemplary in performing their duties and speaking, but must not put pressure or coercion on candidates," the Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requested.
The city has 201 testing sites with more than 4,400 official testing rooms, each of which also has a backup testing room. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has mobilized 17,000 officials, teachers, and employees to perform the tasks of invigilation and grading.
