More than 11,600 Da Nang candidates take the 10th grade high school entrance exam

According to the reporter's observations at the examination site of Phan Chau Trinh High School (Hai Chau District, Da Nang City), candidates arrived at the examination site with a confident, comfortable mentality, ready with the best mindset to pass the exam.

Nguyen Quang Huy, a student at Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School, shared: "This morning, I was very confident when I took the first exam of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year. As a city-level Literature student, in addition to focusing on studying to do well on today's exam, I have been studying for the remaining subjects with the hope of passing my first choice at Phan Chau Trinh High School. After this exam, I will also take the Literature exam at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted. I wish you all a good exam."

The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year in Da Nang took place from June 2-4, with more than 11,800 candidates registering to take the exam. Candidates took the exam in 3 subjects: Math, Literature, and Foreign Language.

To prepare for this exam, the Departmentof Education and Training of Da Nang city has established 28 official testing sites (including 26 mass testing sites and 2 testing sites for Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted).

The Da Nang Department of Education and Training mobilized about 2,000 teachers to invigilate and grade exams, and coordinated with the Da Nang City Police to mobilize more than 150 officers and soldiers to maintain security and order at exam printing and copying locations, as well as exam sites.

At the examination sites, from the afternoon of May 31, meetings were held with leaders, secretaries, security and service staff, and facilities were re-inspected. On the morning of June 1, a meeting was held with the entire Examination Council; the examination regulations were disseminated to the examination staff; general regulations of the examination were disseminated; examination records and facilities of the examination rooms were checked.

According to Mr. Pham Tan Ngoc Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang city, the department has closely coordinated with the Da Nang City Police and local police to strictly protect the exam question making and printing area as well as the exam locations.

Traffic police and police from units and localities were present at checkpoints, directing traffic, coordinating to ensure traffic safety from early morning, supporting and creating favorable conditions for teachers and students to arrive at the exam site on time. In addition, coordinating with the electricity sector and water supply companies to provide adequate water and electricity in the exam area as well as the exam invigilation and grading locations.

In the 2025-2026 school year entrance exam for grade 10, Da Nang city plans to enroll 11,010 students, of which 10,296 will enroll in public high schools (including Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) and 714 will enroll in the regular education system.

According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City, in 2025, there were 11,860 candidates registered for the exam; 195 candidates were admitted directly, of which 9 candidates registered for the exam at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted. Phan Chau Trinh High School had the most candidates registering for their first choice with 1,857 students.

In the afternoon of the same day, candidates took the Foreign Language exam with a time limit of 60 minutes; on the morning of June 3, candidates took the Math exam with a time limit of 120 minutes; on the morning of June 4, candidates took the specialized subjects according to their registration at Le Quy Don High School with a time limit of 150 minutes.
