More than 4,200 students have not returned to school after Tet holiday

Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí04/02/2025

(Dan Tri) - After 2 days of school after the Lunar New Year holiday of At Ty 2025, Bac Lieu still has more than 4,200 preschool children and students of all levels who have not returned to school.

According to information from the Departmentof Education and Training of Bac Lieu province, as of the afternoon of February 4, after 2 days of school after the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, more than 4,200 students of all levels (including preschool children) in the province have not returned to school.

Specifically, there are more than 1,790 children in preschool, over 1,260 in primary school, and more than 1,180 in secondary, high school, and continuing education.

The reason for the absence is that many children are sick, have not been able to come back to their hometown with their parents, have family matters, etc.

The education sector directs schools and homeroom teachers to actively coordinate with localities and parents to encourage students to come to class early for the most effective learning.

Previously, preschool children and students of all levels in Bac Lieu province were off for the Lunar New Year 2025 from January 20 to February 2 (ie from December 21 to January 5), with a total of 14 days; they returned to school on February 3 (ie January 6).

After the Tet holiday, the Department of Education and Training requires public educational institutions to proactively review and arrange appropriate make-up class schedules based on the school year schedule to ensure progress in implementing the teaching and learning program.
