Take on multiple roles
MSc. Ngan Anh believes that humor and laughter in class are not simply entertainment but also create a connection between teachers and students. "Without interaction, no matter how hard a teacher tries to teach, it will not be effective" - MSc. Ngan Anh concludes.
In the new era, she believes that the role of teachers has expanded and is more closely connected to the younger generation. Teachers not only impart knowledge but also have the responsibility to accompany, listen and encourage students, even after they have graduated.
Winning second prize at the 2025 Vocational Education Teachers' Teaching Competition organized by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City recently, Mr. Thai Van Huy (24 years old), lecturer of Ho Chi Minh City Vocational College, made an impression with his new and unique design. Sharing the reason why he chose vocational education instead of working in higher education, Mr. Huy frankly said that each educational environment has its own strengths. Although teaching vocational education is hard because the training program is 70% practice, in return, he has a lot of time to be close to and bond with students.

"At first, I was a little shy when addressing my students because the age gap between us was quite close. Then, I adjusted my thinking a bit. Instead of being a strict teacher, I became an older brother, guiding the younger students into the profession. Students were therefore bold in sharing their wishes, making learning easier," said Mr. Huy with a smile.
As a teacher with more than 20 years of experience in teaching, consulting businesses and providing career guidance to students, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Thuy, Head of Admissions and Communications Department - Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, affirmed that AI does not replace teachers. AI only replaces repetitive tasks, so that teachers have time to do the most "human" things such as guiding thinking, inspiring passion, and inspiring students...
"This will create a solid interdisciplinary teaching team, capable of developing, mastering and creating AI platforms. That is the way for lecturers to develop and improve themselves in the era of digital technology development" - Associate Professor, Dr. Thuy affirmed.
Catalyst, accompanying young people
Mr. Huynh Thanh Phu, Principal of Bui Thi Xuan High School (Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), shared that teachers in the digital age are not only simply imparting knowledge, but also being guides and catalysts to nurture students' proactive learning spirit. The new era requires teachers to step out of old stereotypes, take on the qualities of a "digital citizen", with enough capacity, attitude and love for the profession to accompany the young generation on the journey to conquer knowledge.
First of all, teachers must have a solid knowledge base. We cannot lead students with shaky legs. Professional knowledge is the pillar, foreign languages are the key to open the world and technological capacity is the tool to help each lesson become flexible, lively and updated. Students today are exposed to global knowledge with just a few touches, so if teachers are slow, they will easily be left behind by time. "I always hope that my teachers will foster a spirit of lifelong learning - not to keep up with students but to inspire them to explore a world that is moving every minute" - Mr. Phu believes.
Mr. Tran Minh Thanh, Vice Principal of Minh Duc Secondary School (Cau Ong Lanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), said that in the digital age, the role of teachers has shifted from knowledge transmitters to guides, advisors and inspirers. Teachers help students evaluate and process digital information, develop digital skills and critical thinking, and apply technology to teaching to improve quality and interactivity. They are no longer the only source of knowledge but become guides to help students develop lifelong learning capacity, only then can we positively inspire students in the challenging learning journey of the digital age.
The digital age poses many challenges for teachers, but it is also a driving force for self-improvement and self-improvement. According to Mr. Thanh, teachers must be able to adapt quickly. Proactively change to suit the digital education environment, upgrade technological capacity, and upgrade teaching methods. Gradually use and master digital education platforms: LMS, electronic gradebooks, digital learning materials, and online classrooms.
Mastering interactive tools, communication, and supporting parents through digital platforms. "Technology can change very quickly, but the heart of a teacher is always the core value. Therefore, with determination and a spirit of continuous learning, our team of teachers can completely master the digital age, making the school increasingly develop and students increasingly mature comprehensively" - Mr. Thanh said.
Ms. Nghiem Que Nhi, a teacher at Phan Van Tri Primary School (Cau Ong Lanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), said that the era of artificial intelligence opens up many new opportunities for education, while also posing different requirements for the role of teachers. Technology can support the analysis of learning data, personalize content, and provide rich learning resources; however, AI cannot completely replace the role of teachers - those who play the role of guiding, guiding, and nurturing students' personalities.
With determination and a spirit of continuous learning, our team of teachers can completely master the digital age.
